Ceramic Sintering Furnace

Interactive 3D simulation of solid-state ceramic sintering: watch a bed of powder particles neck, densify and shrink under heat and pressure, and track relative density, grain size and linear shrinkage in real time.

Loose ceramic powder becomes a dense, rigid part not by melting but by solid-state diffusion: atoms migrate toward the contact points between neighbouring grains, growing necks that stitch the compact together while pores shrink and vanish. This simulation fires a cubic bed of powder particles under a controllable temperature and hot-isostatic-pressing (HIP) load, tracking relative density, linear shrinkage and grain size through the initial, intermediate and final sintering stages — the same staging engineers use to schedule the firing of anything from porcelain tableware to aerospace-grade Al₂O₃ and SiC components.

⚙ Under the hood

Interactive 3D simulation of solid-state ceramic sintering: a bed of powder particles necks, densifies and shrinks under adjustable furnace temperature and hot-isostatic-pressing load, with live relative density, linear shrinkage and grain-size readouts through the initial, intermediate and final sintering stages.
