🧲 Rare Earth Magnetic Separator (2D)

2D induced-roll magnetic separator: adjust field strength, roll speed, feed rate and splitter position and watch magnetic vs. non-magnetic grains detach from the spinning roll at different angles, landing in the concentrate or tailings bin.

This 2D companion drives the same induced-roll separation principle as the 3D version through a plain side-view canvas: field strength, roll speed, feed rate and splitter position are live sliders, and each grain's detachment angle — and so which bin it lands in — comes directly from the competition between centrifugal force and the magnet's holding force, with recovery, grade and mass-pull tallied from the actual simulated outcomes.

⚙ Under the hood

2D induced-roll magnetic separator: field strength, roll speed, feed rate and splitter position are live sliders, and each grain's detachment angle is computed from the balance of centrifugal and magnetic holding force, so recovery, grade and mass-pull update from real simulated outcomes.
