Materials Discovery Lab: Property Map & Pareto Front (2D)
Interactive 2D materials-discovery map: hundreds of candidate alloys plotted by strength vs. conductivity from a real structure-property model, with the Pareto-optimal frontier highlighted and filter sliders that narrow the candidate pool — the same multi-objective screening logic used in real high-throughput materials informatics.
This 2D companion maps computational materials discovery itself: a pool of virtual alloy candidates, each generated from two composition/process parameters through a real (if simplified) structure-property relationship, is plotted as strength vs. conductivity with realistic scatter on top of the underlying trend. The Pareto-optimal frontier — the candidates no other candidate beats on both properties at once — is highlighted exactly as a real high-throughput screening pipeline would flag its shortlist. Click any point to inspect its composition, drag the candidate-count slider to resample the design space, and use the filter sliders to narrow the pool the way a materials-informatics workflow screens thousands of predictions down to a handful worth testing.
