🔬 What It Demonstrates
Each bee follows only a handful of rules tied to its role, yet the colony as a whole keeps its brood nest warm, its stores full and its entrance defended — a textbook example of emergent, decentralised organisation.

Set population, season and forager ratio, then watch the dashboard respond. Toggle disease pressure to see vitality and brood coverage degrade, and use the speed controls to fast-forward whole seasons.
💡 Did You Know?
A strong summer colony can hold 40,000–60,000 bees and still hold its brood nest within about two degrees of 35°C, entirely through collective fanning and clustering — no single bee is in charge.
