💨 Wind Tunnel Research Simulator (2D)
A side-on 2D wind tunnel: watch smoke streamlines bend around a mounted projectile model and read the drag, lift, Cd and Reynolds number a real balance would record as you change airspeed, angle of attack, air density and shape.
This 2D companion trades the 3D original's orbiting camera for a flat, side-on view built for reading the physics rather than admiring the model: smoke particles stream left to right past a mounted projectile held on a strut, deflecting visibly as lift and angle of attack change, while a live panel reports the same drag, lift, drag coefficient and Reynolds number a real wind-tunnel balance would measure from strain gauges. An extra air-density slider — standing in for altitude — makes it easy to see why the same shape at the same airspeed produces very different forces at sea level versus thin high-altitude air.
Side-on 2D wind tunnel with streamline particles, adjustable airspeed, angle of attack, air density and model shape, and a live readout of drag, lift, Cd and Reynolds number computed from the standard drag/lift equations.
