🧪 Mechanics Simulation
Pull a train of ropes-connected boxes across a floor with friction and watch Newton's second law and inter-block rope tension play out live in 3D. Adjust force, friction, mass and rope strength to snap the train apart.
This simulation demonstrates the principles of mechanics, showcasing how objects respond to forces and interactions. A row of rope-connected boxes sits on a floor with adjustable kinetic friction; pulling the front box with a single applied force accelerates the whole chain together, exactly as Newton's second law predicts for a multi-body system. Live readouts track the shared acceleration, the total friction resisting the pull, and — critically — the tension in the rope immediately behind the front box, which always carries the most load. Push the applied force past the rope's break tension and watch that link snap: the front box tears free and keeps accelerating alone while the remaining train, no longer pulled, coasts to a stop under friction. Adjust box count, per-box mass, friction coefficient, applied force and rope strength to explore how each one reshapes the acceleration and the tension distribution along the train.
This simulation demonstrates the principles of mechanics, showcasing how objects respond to forces and interactions. It illustrates concepts such as Newton's laws of motion, friction, and gravity.
