Submarine Buoyancy Simulator (2D)

2D submarine buoyancy lab: adjust main ballast and target depth, engage automatic depth-hold or trigger an emergency blow, and watch buoyancy force, drag and pressure play out in a live side-view cross-section.

This 2D companion drives the same buoyancy model as the 3D version through a plain side-view cross-section: ballast trim sets a net buoyancy force against quadratic drag, integrated every frame into vertical speed and depth, while an automatic-trim controller can hold a target depth or an emergency-blow command can force an immediate ascent — the same forces, read directly off a depth ruler instead of an orbiting 3D hull.

⚙ Under the hood

Ballast-driven buoyancy bias minus velocity-squared drag is integrated into vertical speed and depth every step; an automatic-trim controller nudges ballast toward a proportional depth-hold command, and an emergency-blow command dumps ballast to force a fast ascent.
