Ice Skating Patterns (2D)
Interactive 2D top-down ice-skating simulator: push power, ice friction and blade-edge lean drive a real centripetal-turn formula that traces the skater's path around the rink.
This top-down companion swaps the 3D scene for a plain overhead rink so the mechanics driving a skater's path are easier to read: push power adds thrust, ice friction bleeds speed away as Coulomb drag, and the blade's edge-lean angle sets a real centripetal turn radius (r = v²/(g·tanθ)) — carve harder and the turn tightens, glide flat and the skater drifts straight, tracing a fading pattern into the ice as speed and lean change.
Top-down 2D skating simulator: push power, Coulomb ice-friction drag and blade edge-lean combine through the standard v²/(g·tanθ) centripetal turn formula to trace the rink pattern live.
