🫁 Tracheal Mites (2D): Trachea Blockage & Colony Spread Model

A flat cutaway of a honey bee's trachea with Acarapis woodi mites blocking oxygen flow, a colony infestation grid, and a live mite-population model driven by season and hygienic resistance.

This 2D companion turns the 3D thorax cutaway into a flat schematic: a tracheal-tube cross-section shows oxygen particles slowing and thinning as mite load scars the tube, a colony grid colours each bee by infestation state, and a live population model integrates growth rate from season and hygienic-resistance settings so the mite count genuinely rises or falls over time.

⚙ Under the hood

Blockage and airflow follow the same formulas as the 3D original; a new dP/dt population-growth integration, driven by season and resistance, makes the mite count a live time-series rather than a static label.
