Standardising Data Collection for Beekeeping Research (2D)
2D top-down apiary lab: probes fire on a sampling schedule into a live data-dictionary log, showing exactly how protocol adherence controls timing jitter, dropout and measurement noise — even though the underlying colonies never change.
This 2D companion runs the same sampling model as the 3D apiary scene through a plain top-down canvas built for reading the data pipeline rather than orbiting a scene: a grid of hives each fires a probe on the configured interval, growing a coloured bar sized to the reading and pushing a row into a scrolling data-dictionary log on the right. Turning down protocol adherence introduces timing jitter, dropped/malformed rows (flagged red) and measurement noise — the same failure modes that make pooled field data statistically unusable, even though the simulated colonies underneath never actually change.
