Diamond Wire Saw: Cutting Power, Thermal Load & Bead Wear (2D)
2D wire-saw engineering lab: specific-cutting-energy model drives cutting power, a lumped thermal ODE tracks wire temperature against coolant flow, and an Archard-style wear law consumes the diamond beads — all four in real interacting numbers, not animation.
This 2D companion swaps the 3D version's orbiting scene for a readable side-on cross-section driven by the same underlying engineering: a specific-cutting-energy model converts wire speed, feed rate and kerf width into real cutting power and tangential force, a lumped thermal ODE (solved analytically each frame, not just eyeballed) tracks wire temperature against how hard the coolant slider is fighting it, and an Archard-style wear law consumes the diamond beads faster once that temperature climbs — four numbers that visibly react to each other instead of four decorative sliders.
2D wire-saw engineering lab with a specific-cutting-energy model, a lumped thermal ODE and an Archard-style bead-wear law, all driven by the same wire-speed, feed-rate, coolant-flow and kerf-width sliders and read out live alongside a temperature/force strip chart.
