Escalator Mechanism Simulator (2D)
Interactive 2D side-view escalator simulator: a chain of steps loops around a drive sprocket and comb plates while you tune belt speed and incline angle and watch real step-chain mechanics — linear chain speed, vertical rise and the motor power needed to lift a given passenger load.
This 2D side-view simulator shows how an escalator really moves: every step hangs from one continuous chain loop that wraps around a driven sprocket at the top and an idler sprocket at the bottom, staying flat on the horizontal landings and unfolding into a staircase along the incline before folding flat again under the comb plates. Adjust the belt speed and incline angle to see the chain, sprockets and unfolding risers respond in real time, and set how many passengers are riding the incline to watch the live physics readout — linear chain speed, vertical rise, incline length and the motor power needed to lift that load, computed from P = n·m·g·v·sin(θ) divided by drivetrain efficiency.
