🧪 Energy Nuclear Energy Simulation
Interactive 3D nuclear fission simulator: fire a neutron into a heavy nucleus, watch it split into two fragments plus free neutrons, and see the real mass-defect energy release (E=Δmc², semi-empirical mass formula) computed live in MeV and scaled to a fuel mass in kWh.
This simulation demonstrates the process of nuclear fission at the level of a single event: a heavy atomic nucleus absorbs a neutron, forms a compound nucleus, and splits into two smaller fragments plus free neutrons, releasing energy. Rather than modelling a whole chain reaction, it focuses on the underlying mass-energy bookkeeping — using the semi-empirical mass formula to compute real binding energies and the Q-value (E = Δmc²) for a chosen isotope and fragment split, then scaling that per-event energy up to a fuel mass so you can see the numbers behind nuclear power generation.
This simulation demonstrates the process of nuclear fission, where a heavy atomic nucleus splits into smaller nuclei, releasing energy and neutrons. It illustrates the fundamental principles behind nuclear power generation.
