Wind Turbine Farm: Wake Effect & Power Curve (2D)

Top-down wind-farm lab: a Jensen wake model reduces the wind speed each downstream row sees, an IEC-style power curve turns that local wind speed into kilowatts per turbine, and a live panel totals the farm's output, capacity factor and wake losses as you tune the conditions.

This 2D companion sets the same wind farm from the 3D version flat on a top-down map so the aerodynamics, not the scenery, take the foreground: a Jensen (Park) wake model shrinks the wind speed each row of turbines sees based on row spacing and a terrain-roughness wake-decay constant, an IEC-style power curve (cut-in at 3 m/s, rated at 12 m/s, cut-out at 25 m/s) converts each turbine's local wind speed into kilowatts, and a live panel totals the farm's megawatt output, capacity factor and the percentage lost to wake shadowing — so tightening the row spacing or raising the thrust coefficient visibly trades blade-rotation speed for downstream power loss instead of just looking different.
