🍯 Setting Up a Honey Tasting Panel
How to recruit and train tasters, control the tasting environment, and use a standard sensory wheel and scoring sheet to turn subjective honey flavour into reliable data.
A tasting booth with a honey sample, a panel of trained tasters, and a floating six-family sensory wheel that reshapes live as descriptor scores change.
🔬 What It Demonstrates
Each honey type has a characteristic profile across six flavour families. Scoring a descriptor raises its wedge on the sensory wheel — the same 0–10 scale used on a real tasting sheet.
🎮 How to Use
Pick a honey sample, choose a wheel descriptor and drag its intensity, then change panel size and booth environment to see how panel agreement and score reliability respond.
💡 Did You Know?
Standardised sensory wheels let panels anywhere score the same jar using shared vocabulary — the same method used for wine, coffee and olive oil grading panels.
