Real adaptive-learning platforms don't hand every learner the same fixed test — they run a small matchmaking algorithm behind the scenes that pairs each learner with the question closest to their current ability, then updates both ratings after every answer. This simulator implements that mechanic directly: a learner rating and a pool of item difficulty ratings share one Elo scale, the logistic curve sets the probability of a correct answer from the gap between them, and every attempt shifts both ratings in opposite directions. Click through answers by hand or run the auto-practice mode against a hidden "true skill" level and watch the tracked ability rating converge onto it while the served item's difficulty stays locked near the 50% success zone — the same adaptive-difficulty principle behind Duolingo and ALEKS-style personalized practice.
