🧪 Supply Chain Logistics Planning Simulation

Interactive 3D logistics simulator: build a delivery route from a distribution hub to a set of stores, compare a naive stop order against a nearest-neighbor + 2-opt optimized route, split it into vehicle-capacity-limited trips, and watch a truck, van or drone drive the live route while cost, distance and time update in real time.

Real supply chains spend most of their logistics budget on the "last mile" — getting goods from a distribution hub to individual stores. This simulator builds a small delivery network in 3D, computes a capacitated vehicle routing solution with a nearest-neighbor construction plus a 2-opt local-search improvement, and splits the result into vehicle-capacity-limited trips. Switch between a truck, van and drone to see how vehicle capacity, speed and cost per kilometer trade off against each other, toggle the optimizer off to see the raw unoptimized route for comparison, and watch a vehicle drive the live route while total distance, cost, time and trip count update in real time.

⚙ Under the hood

This simulation demonstrates how logistics planning impacts a supply chain's efficiency. It illustrates the optimization of routes, warehousing strategies, and transportation modes to minimize costs and delivery times. The focus is on streamlining the movement of goods from origin to consumer.
