Oyster reefs are the water-treatment plants of an estuary: each animal is a living pump that strains algae and fine sediment out of the water column and binds the leftovers into biodeposits that build the reef upward over time. This simulator models a patch of reef with a real thermal-performance clearance curve and a turbidity mass-balance equation — set the oyster density, water temperature, current speed and how sediment-laden the incoming water is, and watch the water column visibly clear (or stay murky) while the aggregate filtration rate and cumulative shell accretion update live.
