Species Interaction Dynamics
Interactive 3D simulator of the generalized Lotka-Volterra two-species model: switch between mutualism, competition, predation, parasitism, commensalism and amensalism and watch two populations evolve from the same governing equation with different interaction signs.
Ecologists classify every pairwise relationship between two species — competition, predation, parasitism, mutualism, commensalism, amensalism — by nothing more than the sign of how each population's density affects the other's growth rate. This simulator renders two live population swarms in 3D and drives them with the same generalized Lotka–Volterra equation, letting you flip between all six classical interaction types (plus the neutral baseline) and watch the identical mathematical model produce runaway mutual growth, stable coexistence, boom-bust cycles, or one-sided decline depending only on those signs and their strength.
