Green Space Equity 2D: 10-Minute Walk Access Map

Interactive 2D top-down city map: place parks with a uniform-grid or equity-optimized siting algorithm and watch which neighborhoods fall inside or outside a 10-minute walking catchment, with a live income-access equity gap readout. Drag to pan, scroll to zoom.

This simulator models a city as a grid of blocks with varying population and income, then tests whether every resident lives inside a real walkable service radius of a park. Choose a park budget, pick between a naive uniform-grid layout and a greedy equity-optimized siting algorithm that prioritizes under-served low-income demand, and drag the walk-time threshold and income-segregation sliders to see how siting decisions — not just total park area — determine who actually gets access and how large the access gap between income groups becomes. This is the flat top-down map view of the same city model, with pan and zoom instead of a 3D camera.
