Most population-growth simulators show logistic growth, where a small population always recovers. Real wildlife populations often don't work that way: below a critical density, mate-finding failure, loss of cooperative defense, and inbreeding depression push growth rate negative, sending the population to extinction even with no outside pressure. This 2D simulator renders the colony as a live top-down habitat map (pan and zoom it directly), a draggable phase portrait that exposes the three equilibria of the underlying equation, and a running population-vs-time chart. Adjust the growth rate, Allee threshold and carrying capacity, or use the cull/reintroduction buttons — or just grab the phase-portrait dot — to push the population across its threshold and watch whether it recovers toward carrying capacity or spirals to extinction.
