A credit-card number tries to leave the network in plain or obfuscated form (digit spacing, Base64 re-encoding, homoglyph substitution) while a perimeter scanner evaluates it — toggle between legacy signature-matching DLP, which only catches the exact regex pattern, and modern content-aware ML DLP, which normalizes and decodes the payload first and still recognizes it.
