Ransomware Network Propagation Simulator (3D)

A phishing click on one workstation, then live spread across a 5-department corporate network graph — orbit the outbreak and test how patch level, network segmentation and incident-response speed change how much of the network gets encrypted before containment.

The 2D original told the ransomware story through a dashboard of percentages and buttons; this 3D companion tells it as a graph. Five departments each run their own star topology — a hub switch and six workstations — and the five hubs form a full-mesh corporate backbone rendered as dashed purple links. Click Launch Attack and a single random workstation gets infected by a simulated phishing email; from there the outbreak spreads edge by edge, each attempt weighted by whether the link crosses a department boundary and by how thoroughly patched the estate is. A configurable detection-and-response clock eventually fires and isolates every node still actively compromised at that moment, freezing the blast radius in place so you can see exactly how much a faster response, tighter segmentation, or better patching would have saved.

⚙ Under the hood

A live SIR-style epidemic model running on an explicit corporate network graph: star-topology departments connected by a full-mesh hub backbone, per-edge infection probability shaped by patch level and network segmentation, and a one-time incident-response isolation event triggered by the response-time slider.
