Evil-Twin Wi-Fi Detection: Mobile Threat Defense Engine
Interactive 2D floor-plan simulator: a phone patrols past trusted access points and a spoofed evil-twin AP, and an on-device risk engine scores BSSID clone quality, certificate pinning and signal-strength anomalies to auto-block the rogue connection.
Mobile Threat Defense (MTD) products spend most of their effort not on malware scanning but on validating the identity of the networks a device joins. This 2D floor-plan simulator patrols a phone past several legitimate access points and one rogue "evil twin" broadcasting the identical SSID, and runs a real on-device risk-scoring engine — BSSID trust-list lookup (weakened by attacker MAC-spoofing quality), TLS certificate pinning, and RSSI-anomaly comparison — against whichever AP currently wins the signal-strength race. Push the rogue AP's transmit power and spoof quality up to watch it win association and slip past the BSSID check, then toggle certificate pinning off to see the one check that actually stops the attack even when the clone is loud and convincing.
