A branch office and a cloud hub stay connected over three independent encrypted overlay tunnels — MPLS, Broadband and LTE — each with its own live latency, jitter and packet-loss telemetry rendered as glowing arcs on a top-down network map. An SD-WAN controller continuously scores every tunnel with a weighted cost function and steers active traffic to whichever path currently scores best, only switching when the improvement clears a tunable hysteresis margin so two close tunnels don't flap. A firewall gate sits at the midpoint of every path, inspecting and re-encrypting each packet before it continues to the hub. A lower strip charts each tunnel's live score over time so a brownout and the controller's reaction to it are visible as a trace. Adjust the metric weights, tighten or loosen the switching hysteresis, or force a brownout on any one tunnel — then drag the map to pan and scroll to zoom while you watch the controller fail over in real time.
