Atmospheric Microplastic Transport — 2D Side Profile
2D companion to the 3D atmospheric microplastic simulator: a draggable, zoomable side-profile view of the same wind-advection, turbulent-diffusion and Stokes-law settling model, with a live settling-velocity-vs-diameter curve alongside the plume.
This 2D companion to the 3D atmospheric microplastic simulator drives the identical, verified physics — mean wind advection, an isotropic turbulent random walk, and Stokes-law gravitational settling scaling with the square of particle diameter — but renders it as a flat, pannable, zoomable side profile instead of an orbitable 3D scene. Adjust wind speed, fiber diameter, turbulence intensity and emission rate to watch the plume stretch, sink and deposit, and read live counts of airborne versus deposited fibers alongside the current settling velocity and mean deposit distance. A small reference curve shows settling velocity across the whole diameter range so you can see exactly where the current fiber size sits on the d² law before it ever reaches the ground.
