Forest Fire Spread Simulator (2D)
Interactive 2D forest fire cellular automaton: watch fire spread through a grid of trees, tune wind speed, tree density and humidity, and see how a firebreak or rain changes the outcome.
This 2D companion redraws the same Drossel–Schwabl forest-fire cellular automaton as a flat grid seen from above: trees ignite their tree neighbors with a probability shaped by wind direction and humidity, burn out into ash, and the forest can slowly regrow. Adjust tree density, humidity and wind speed and direction, click a tree to start a fire or drag across the grid to carve a firebreak, and watch the live readout track how much of the forest is burning, has burned to ash, or still stands.
A 2D cellular-automaton simulation of fire spreading through a grid of trees, where wind direction and humidity control how fast and how far the flames travel.
