🏙️ City Block Resilience Lab: Load Paths, Progressive Collapse and Rescue Voids

Remove one column, settle one footing or heat one steel beam in a block of five empty buildings and watch the load find another path - or not. Alternate-load-path analysis, plastic hinges and ties, Euler buckling and steel fire strength, rubble voids and access for rescue crews.

⚙ Under the hood

Remove one ground-floor column, settle one footing or heat one steel compartment in a block of five empty buildings (tied and precast RC frames, a soft-storey frame, a steel frame, a brick building) and watch the load find another path or not: rigid-body-spring connections with plastic hinges and ties, Euler buckling, steel strength k_y(T), floor-by-floor collapse, damage grades D1-D5, rubble bulking, voids and alley access for rescue planning. Differs from the shake-table earthquake, chimney-felling, demolition-ball and single-building collapse pages by comparing the alternate-load-path behaviour of five structure types in one block, with a linear UFC-style check, a dynamic amplification factor measured against the spring-mass value of 2, and a rescue-oriented overlay.
