Manganese Oxide Reduction Furnace (2D)
2D cross-section of a submerged-arc furnace carbothermically reducing manganese ore to ferromanganese. Adjust furnace temperature, reductant (carbon) potential and ore grade, and watch the charge descend, the metal pool build, off-gas escape and taps drain a real Mn-recovery / alloy-grade model.
The 3D original renders a submerged-arc smelter as a rotating showpiece: a furnace shell glows, an orange stream drips from the tap hole, and sparks drift upward, but the visuals are decorative dressing around the same three sliders. This 2D companion keeps the real underlying model — Mn recovery, alloy grade and specific energy driven by furnace temperature, reductant potential and ore grade — and turns it into an actual process cross-section: charge descends through a preheat/reduction shaft, the reduction zone brightens with reaction progress, a molten pool fills at the hearth as metal accumulates, and tapping drains the pool while logging the batch's alloy grade, matching the higher-temperature threshold real ferromanganese smelting needs versus iron reduction.
