Organocatalyst Recycling 2D: Turnover & Leaching
A 2D batch-reactor view of organocatalyst reuse: watch first-order substrate conversion, cycle-over-cycle catalyst leaching, and cumulative turnover number (TON) climb across three live linked panels until the catalyst pool is exhausted.
Organocatalysts are prized for being metal-free, cheap and easy to handle — but almost none of them survive unlimited reuse. This 2D simulator charges a batch reactor with substrate and a fixed pool of catalyst, runs one first-order reaction cycle at a time, and lets a user-chosen fraction of the catalyst leach out of solution after every round. A live vessel view, a per-cycle yield/catalyst history chart, and a real-time theoretical-vs-actual conversion curve make the real economics of catalyst reuse tangible: intrinsic activity, leaching rate and initial loading all trade off against how many productive cycles a single charge of catalyst can deliver.
