Boron Refinery: Leach & Crystallize (2D)
A 2D process lab built on a real solubility-vs-temperature curve for boric acid: feed borate ore into a hot leach tank, then cool the liquor to crystallize pure product — the gap between the hot and cold solubility points is exactly what precipitates out.
This 2D companion swaps the 3D version's generic factory-tour visuals for the chemistry that actually drives boron refining: a solubility-vs-temperature curve for boric acid. Feed rate and ore grade control how much borate enters the hot leach tank, and the liquor can only hold as much dissolved product as its temperature's solubility limit allows — the rest is rejected as waste. Cooling the saturated liquor to a lower temperature drops its solubility ceiling, and the difference between the hot and cold points on the curve is precisely the mass that crystallizes out as solid product each batch, exactly as it does in a real cooling-crystallization circuit.
Hot-leach and cooling-crystallization lab driven by an approximate published solubility curve for boric acid (kg dissolvable per tonne of water vs. temperature); feed rate and ore grade set how much reaches saturation, and the hot/cold solubility gap sets recoverable yield.
