Chemical Equilibrium — Le Chatelier's Principle (2D)
Interactive 2D N2O4 <-> 2NO2 equilibrium simulator: heat, cool, compress or expand the vessel, or inject NO2, and watch the equilibrium shift with a live equilibrium constant and concentration readout.
This 2D simulator visualizes the classic N₂O₄ ⇌ 2NO₂ gas-phase equilibrium inside a sealed, resizable vessel. Pale N₂O₄ molecules and brown NO₂ molecules bounce around the container, continually swapping between forms to show that equilibrium is dynamic, not static. Heat or cool the system, compress or expand the vessel walls, or inject extra NO₂ to apply a stress, and watch the population of each species — and the container's overall color — shift according to Le Chatelier's principle while the live equilibrium constant Kc and concentration ratio update in real time.
Heat, cool, compress, expand or inject NO2 into a sealed N2O4/NO2 vessel and watch the equilibrium shift live according to Le Chatelier's principle, with a real equilibrium constant readout.
