🧪 Transcendent Existence Transcendence Simulation

Watch a self-organizing system emerge from pure noise: a cyclic cellular automaton where cells chase their neighbors through a rock-paper-scissors cycle of states, spontaneously generating rotating spiral demons that endlessly recreate and sustain themselves with no central controller.

This simulation investigates a system that continuously creates and sustains itself with no central controller: a cyclic cellular automaton, where every cell on a grid cycles through K states in a fixed rock-paper-scissors order and advances only when enough neighbors already occupy the next state in the cycle. Seeded from pure random noise, this simple local rule spontaneously organizes into rotating spiral "demons" — a textbook example of self-organization and emergence, where global structure with no blueprint arises purely from identical local interactions. Tune the number of states, the excitation threshold and the sensing radius to see the transition from disordered noise to stable, endlessly self-regenerating spiral waves, the same class of dynamics that governs Belousov–Zhabotinsky chemical spirals and re-entrant cardiac arrhythmias.

⚙ Under the hood

This simulation investigates the concept of a system that can continuously create and sustain itself. It demonstrates fundamental principles related to self-organization and emergence.
