Beach Kick Car: Top-Down Bicycle-Model Driving Lab
Top-down 2D companion to the 3D beach kick car: a real bicycle-model tire simulation with slip-angle drift, friction-circle grip and knockable beach props — tune engine power, surface grip and mass.
The 3D beach kick car proves the suspension and collision physics; this top-down 2D companion isolates the part that is hardest to see from inside a chase camera — how the tyres themselves decide whether the car goes where you steer it. It runs a genuine single-track (bicycle) model: front and rear axle forces are computed from each axle's slip angle, clamped by a friction-circle grip limit shared between cornering and acceleration or braking, so pushing the engine and the steering wheel hard at the same time visibly costs you grip in the corner. Engine power, surface grip and vehicle mass are all live sliders, the handbrake unlocks the rear axle for a controllable drift exactly like the 3D version's Space key, and the readout panel exposes the rear slip angle and lateral g-force directly, turning "why did the back end swing out" into a number you can watch change in real time. The same slalom of cones, a cluster of light driftwood crates and two heavy boulders from the 3D beach carry over as knockable and rammable props.
Top-down single-track bicycle model: front/rear slip angles, a friction-circle grip limit per axle, handbrake-unlocked rear-axle drift, and knockable beach props — paired with the 3D beach kick car's full rigid-body suspension sim.
