Biosafety Cabinet Airflow Containment Simulator

Interactive 3D Class II biosafety cabinet: tune blower speed, sash height and HEPA filter loading, release an aerosol burst at the work surface, and watch the inward/downward air curtain decide whether droplets are captured or breach containment.

Every Class II biosafety cabinet keeps aerosolised pathogens away from the operator using nothing but moving air: an inward face velocity through the open front sash, and a HEPA-filtered downflow that sweeps the work surface toward intake grilles. This simulator builds a real 3D cabinet and lets you drive the same three variables that determine whether that air curtain holds — blower speed, sash opening height, and HEPA filter loading — then release a burst of aerosol droplets at the work surface and watch each particle's fate resolve individually: swept to a grille and contained, or carried out through the sash into the room. Live readouts track the computed face velocity against the NSF/ANSI 49 compliance threshold of 0.5 m/s and the running containment rate across every burst you release.

⚙ Under the hood

Tune blower speed, sash height and HEPA filter loading on a 3D Class II biosafety cabinet, release an aerosol burst, and watch whether the inward/downward air curtain contains it or lets it breach the sash.
