Wright-Fisher Model: Allele Frequency Drift (2D)

2D population-genetics lab: the discrete-generation Wright-Fisher model with selection, dominance, mutation and finite-population drift — run many replicate populations side by side and watch allele frequencies fix, drift and diverge from the deterministic prediction.

This 2D companion trades the 3D version's wandering creatures for the textbook population-genetics model those creatures are meant to illustrate: a discrete-generation Wright-Fisher process run across many replicate populations at once. Selection, dominance and mutation move each population's allele frequency deterministically each generation; a binomial sampling step then adds genuine finite-population drift on top. Watch the replicate lines fan out from the dashed deterministic prediction, populations fix or lose the allele, and the genotype and distribution panels update live from Hardy-Weinberg proportions — the same forces the 3D creature scene animates, expressed as the equations biologists actually use.
