🐝 Citizen Science Beekeeping Data Lab (2D)

Interactive 2D beeswarm strip-plot of volunteer-reported hive measurements: tune protocol rigor, observer bias, volunteer count and outlier QA filtering, and watch the live aggregate estimate converge on (or stay offset from) the true population value.

A 2D beeswarm strip-plot of volunteer-reported apiary measurements shows how protocol rigor, observer bias, outlier filtering and the number of participating volunteers determine whether the aggregate estimate converges on the true population value. Random noise averages out as sample size grows, but a shared systematic bias does not — the aggregate line stays offset from the true-value line no matter how many volunteers report. This 2D edition renders the same reports and the same statistics as a flat, scrollable value-axis strip instead of a 3D field of raised markers.
