The Color Wheel

Value (or brightness) indicates how dark or light a color is. Adjusting value changes a color's lightness or darkness.

Color Mixing Techniques
Additive mixing (used with light, like on computer screens) involves combining different colors of light. Red, green, and blue mixed together create white.
Subtractive mixing (used with pigments, like paint) starts with a full spectrum of color and removes certain wavelengths to achieve a desired hue. Mixing cyan, magenta, and yellow creates black.

Color Harmony
