Razorfish Sand Dive Lab (2D)
Top-down companion to the 3D razorfish sim: a school of razorfish holds station over a sandy patch while a mean-field phase-synchronization model decides when each one dives for cover — tune predation risk and synchronization and watch the hide cycles line up.
This 2D top-down companion keeps the same underlying idea as the 3D scene — a school of razorfish diving into the sand together to avoid predators — but drives it with an explicit mean-field Kuramoto phase-synchronization model: each fish's own phase advances at a rate set by predation risk, is pulled toward the group's average phase by the synchronization strength, and triggers a dive the instant it wraps around.
Top-down 2D razorfish sim: every fish carries a phase θ advanced by risk-scaled angular speed plus a synchronization-scaled pull toward the population's mean-field phase (the classic Kuramoto order parameter r, shown live as Synchrony%); a wrap past 2π fires a dive (a "hide cycle") with a sand-burst effect, while simple separation/alignment/cohesion rules keep the school moving as a loose group.
