🦗 Praying Mantis Stalk Lab (2D)
Top-down Canvas 2D lab: population, wind and camouflage sliders drive a live detection-probability model as each mantis creeps toward the nearest prey.
This 2D companion reworks the 3D lab's camouflage-stalking behavior as a plain top-down view: mantises creep toward the nearest insect at a speed you set indirectly through camouflage (stealthier movement is slower), while a wind slider raises the chance a moving mantis gets noticed before it strikes.
Population, wind, camouflage and prey-density sliders drive a per-frame detection-probability model: detection rate scales with wind and movement speed and falls with camouflage, and each mantis spends energy while stalking, resting to recover after a miss-free chase drains it.
