Komodo Dragon Scent-Plume Tracking Lab (2D)
2D top-down chemotaxis lab: a real Gaussian scent-plume model carries carcass odour downwind while a Komodo dragon agent compares concentration at two forked-tongue sample points and steers toward the stronger side.
This 2D companion strips the 3D scavenging scene down to the sensory mechanics that actually let a Komodo dragon find a carcass: a real Gaussian-plume odour field carries scent downwind from the carcass, spreading and diluting exactly the way turbulent atmospheric diffusion does, while a dragon agent samples concentration at two forked-tongue points and steers toward whichever side reads stronger — real bilateral tropotaxis, not scripted wandering. Wind speed, wind direction, carcass distance, plume turbulence and tongue sensitivity are all live parameters that measurably change how long the dragon takes to find the carcass, or whether it finds it at all.
2D top-down chemotaxis lab with a real Gaussian scent-plume dispersion model and a Komodo dragon agent doing bilateral forked-tongue tropotaxis to track it upwind to the carcass.
