Ant Colony Tunnels: Random-Walk Diffusion & Traffic Entropy (2D)

2D companion to the Ant Colony 3D tunnel network: dozens of ants perform an unbiased (or backtrack-averse) random walk across the same 8-chamber graph, with a live Shannon-entropy readout showing how evenly traffic spreads across every tunnel.

This 2D companion drives the same 8-chamber tunnel graph as the 3D scene through a flat, readable top-down view: a side panel exposes ant count, ant speed, a no-backtrack bias and an overall clock speed, every tunnel brightens with a live traffic heat colour as ants random-walk across it, and a normalized Shannon-entropy readout turns "how evenly is the colony spreading through its own tunnels" into a single number you can watch respond to the backtrack-bias slider in real time.

⚙ Under the hood

2D tunnel-network lab: a first-order Markov-chain random walk across the original graph's 8 chambers and 11 tunnels, with a configurable no-backtrack bias and a live normalized Shannon-entropy readout of the traffic distribution.
