🧪 Quality Performance Quality Simulation
Interactive 3D process-capability simulator: watch a manufacturing line produce parts around a target dimension, adjust process centering and variation, and see Cp, Cpk, Pp, Ppk and the defect rate (PPM) update live against the spec limits.
This simulation demonstrates how manufacturing performance metrics are used to assess and improve quality: parts roll off a virtual production line with a dimension drawn from a normal distribution around a process mean, and each one is checked against the customer's spec limits. Adjust the process mean, its variation (σ) and the spec width to watch a real-time histogram and the industry-standard capability indices — Cp, Cpk, Pp and Ppk — update along with the resulting defect rate in parts-per-million. The corrective-action button applies the standard quality-engineering fix (recentering the mean and tightening the variation) so you can track key indicators and see corrective actions actually move the numbers, exactly as a quality engineer would on a real line.
This simulation demonstrates how performance metrics are used to assess and improve quality. Users can track key indicators and implement corrective actions in a 2D environment.
