🧩 Indexxd: Dimensional Collapse in a Coupled-Oscillator Chain

Watch a full mass-spring chain get index-weighted collapsed into a lumped reduced-order model in real time, with a live error readout against the full-fidelity ground truth.

Every degree of freedom you simulate costs compute. This sim makes that trade-off tangible: a chain of N masses and springs runs as full-fidelity ground truth, while a second, index-weighted reduced model collapses the least important (farthest-from-excitation) DOFs into a single lumped mass, exactly following the "assign an index, average by weight, collapse" recipe. Excite the chain, tune N and K, and watch the live RMS error track how much accuracy the reduction is really costing.

⚙ Under the hood

A full N-mass spring chain runs as ground truth while a second, index-weighted reduced model collapses the least important degrees of freedom into one lumped mass, with a live RMS error readout showing what the approximation costs in accuracy.
