🧪 Development Version Control Simulation
Interactive 3D commit-graph simulator: branch a repository, commit on main and feature independently, then watch the real merge-base (LCA) algorithm and a line-level three-way merge resolve or conflict.
This simulation demonstrates how distributed version control systems like Git track history and reconcile divergent work. Every commit you make on main or feature is a real node appended to a directed acyclic graph, rendered live in 3D. When you merge, the sim runs the actual algorithm Git uses: an ancestor-set walk to find the merge base (lowest common ancestor), then a line-by-line three-way diff against that base to decide which lines auto-merge and which are true conflicts that need your resolution — exactly how branching, merging, and conflict resolution work under the hood.
This simulation demonstrates the use of version control systems like Git for collaborative software development. Users will learn about branching, merging, and conflict resolution.
