Insect protein is one of the more overlooked technologies in the sustainable-agriculture toolkit: black soldier fly larvae eat organic waste and turn it into body mass at a feed conversion ratio many times better than livestock. This simulator models one bioconversion bin as a coupled pair of quantities — a substrate mass being consumed and a larval biomass growing logistically inside it, with a temperature-dependent growth rate peaking near the species' real thermal optimum. Adjust bin temperature, daily feed rate and the reseed fraction left behind after each harvest, then watch the 3D larvae population (rendered as an instanced mesh growing in count and size) consume the substrate layer while live readouts track biomass, feed conversion ratio, cumulative waste diverted and protein yield.
