GPS Auto-Steer Swath Control Simulator (2D Field Map)
A top-down 2D field-mapping simulator of GPS auto-steer swath control: watch a mean-reverting cross-track-error random walk build overlap and skip strips pass by pass under manual, WAAS-GPS or RTK-GPS guidance, with a live drift trace, pannable/zoomable field map, and overlap/skip/waste readouts.
Precision agriculture starts on the ground, with the guidance system that keeps a sprayer, planter or spreader on its planned line pass after pass. This 2D top-down simulator drives a virtual implement across a rasterised field using a mean-reverting cross-track-error model tuned to three real guidance tiers — manual steering, WAAS-corrected GPS, and RTK GPS auto-steer — and rasterises the resulting swaths cell by cell to show exactly where passes overlap (wasted double-dosed input) and where they leave gaps (skipped, untreated ground). A live drift-trace chart plots the same cross-track-error signal driving the field map beneath it. Pan and zoom the field, switch guidance modes, implement width, travel speed and field width to see how each one trades off coverage efficiency, and watch the live overlap, skip and input-waste percentages settle as the tractor works its way across the field.
