Electrodynamic Dust Shield
Simulate a NASA-style electrodynamic dust shield: a three-phase traveling electric wave on interdigitated electrodes that lofts and sweeps charged regolith dust off a solar panel or optical surface.
This simulator models a real dust-mitigation technology built for airless and near-vacuum planetary surfaces: an electrodynamic dust shield (EDS). Parallel electrode strips beneath the panel surface carry a three-phase AC voltage, producing a traveling electric-field wave that decays exponentially with height above the surface. Triboelectrically charged regolith grains feel a Coulomb force from this wave, get lofted against local gravity, and are swept sideways off the panel. Adjust the drive voltage, frequency, electrode pitch and surface gravity (Moon, Mars or Earth) and watch cleared-fraction, particle count, surface field strength and wave speed update live — the same trade-offs engineers tune when sizing an EDS for a lunar lander or Mars rover optic.
