🛰️ Orbital Launch Ascent Lab: Gravity Turn, Max-Q, Staging and the Delta-v Budget

Fly a generic two-stage reusable heavy-lift launcher to low Earth orbit in a planar equations-of-motion model: pitch kick, zero-angle-of-attack gravity turn, max-Q throttle bucket, staging, circularisation and a live delta-v budget (gravity, drag, steering losses). Distinct from the existing rocket sims: the focus is the ascent profile, max-Q and the delta-v budget.

⚙ Under the hood

Fly a generic two-stage reusable heavy-lift launcher to low Earth orbit in a planar equations-of-motion model with Mach-dependent drag, ISA density, altitude-dependent gravity and Earth-rotation bonus: pitch kick, zero-angle-of-attack gravity turn, max-Q throttle bucket, staging, circularisation and a live delta-v budget split into gravity, drag and steering losses. Differs from the existing rocket-launch and rocket-staging sims by focusing on the ascent profile, max-Q and the budget bookkeeping, with experiments for the optimal kick, simulated delta-v versus the rocket equation and the payload cost of landing the booster.
