Plasma Propulsion Testbed (2D): Ion/Hall-Thruster Thrust & Isp Lab
2D ion/Hall-thruster lab: exhaust velocity, thrust and specific impulse computed live from accelerating voltage, propellant mass-flow rate and ion species, with a power-limited thrust-vs-Isp tradeoff curve plotted against a real chemical-rocket reference point.
This 2D companion drives the same electric-propulsion physics as the 3D testbed through a plain canvas readout built for the numbers rather than the glow: pick a propellant ion, dial the accelerating voltage and mass-flow rate, and watch exhaust velocity, thrust and specific impulse update from the real v_e = √(2qV/m), F = ṁv_e and Isp = v_e/g0 relations, while a power-limited thrust-vs-Isp curve and a chemical-rocket reference point show exactly why electric propulsion trades thrust for an order of magnitude more specific impulse than a chemical engine burning the same propellant flow.
2D ion/Hall-thruster lab computing exhaust velocity, thrust and specific impulse live from accelerating voltage, propellant mass-flow rate, ion species and thruster efficiency, with a power-limited thrust-vs-Isp tradeoff curve and a chemical-rocket comparison at the same mass-flow rate.
